Contributors to POGIL-PCL
We must first acknowledge the contributions to our work that come from The POGIL Project. Without their initial and continued support and encouragement, we would not be the growing community that we are now.
Melissa Reeves
Melissa has been one of the early adopters of the POGIL-PCL framework. She teaches at Tuskegee University in Alabama. She has worked extensively with the POGIL Project since her early days with the POGIL-PCL group, facilitating a number of workshops, many revolving around the lab framework. She is also the lead author of the Valence Electron experiment and is working on other computational experiments for the project.
Craig Teague
Craig comes from to us from Cornell College in Iowa. Craig has been an early adopter of POGIL methods and has facilitated and coordinated a number of POGIL workshops. He is one of the lead authors of the Hydrogen Atom experiment.
Maria Pacheco
Maria recently retired from Buffalo State College after 34 years of service. She attended a number of our early workshops (including the first one!) and is the lead author the Chickpea Experiment which has been the most widely disseminated product from the POGIL-PCL project.
Matt Scanlon
Matt comes from Fairmont State University, in West Virginia. He has attended several workshops and is a lead author of the Calorimetry Experiment.
Renée Cole
Renée is a chemical education researcher from the University of Iowa. Having taught physical chemistry for many years and having participated in work for The POGIL Project for many years, she was naturally part of the initial group that led the the POGIL-PCL group. She is also a lead author on the Apple Enzyme Experiment.
Ruthanne Paradise
Ruthanne leads the teaching of physical chemistry laboratories at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In this role she has developed implementation strategies for POGIL-PCL in round-robin teaching settings. She also has developed facilitation and training for TAs who then teach in the POGIL laboratory settings. She has also facilitated the lab track for summer POGIL workshops. She is a lead author of the Myoglobin Experiment.
